Sadbhavana Diwas


 Sadbhavana Diwas is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on 20th August 2025. This day is observed as 'Sadbhavana Diwas' or Harmony Day' with an objective to encourage national integration, peace, affection, and communal harmony among the Indian people of all religions and languages.The program began with a warm welcome address by Dr. H. Kohila Subathra Christy, Head and Associate Professor of Chemistry, highlighting the significance of Sadbhavana Diwas in fostering a spirit of goodwill and understanding within our diverse society. The centerpiece of the celebration was the insightful address by Dr. K. Subbulakshmi, Principal, Dr. R. Selvalatha, Associate Professor of Tamil and Dr. M.R. Majith Burvin, Assistant Professor of Tamil, who spoke eloquently on the importance of unity, tolerance, and compassion in building a harmonious society.Students showcased their talents through a series of meaningful and thematic recitation of holy Bhagavad Gita, Bible and Quran and holy songs performances representing the diverse traditions and languages of India. A significant part of the celebration involved all attendees, including students, faculty, and the guest speakers collectively taking the Sadbhavana pledge. Dr. H. Kohila Subathra Christy, Head and Associate Professor of Chemistry, recited the pledge and made all the students to recite the pledge. Around 450 students took the oath and pledged to abide by the rules. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr.D.Shanmuiga Priya, Assistant Professor of Chemistry who expressed gratitude to all participants, especially the guest speakers, for contributing to the success of the celebration and reinforcing the message of peace and unity.
