Workshop on food Adulteration

 The PG and Research Department of Chemistry organized a One Day Workshop on Food Adulteration on 22.09.2026 at 1:30 PM in the New Seminar Hall. The workshop was organized with the aim of creating awareness among students on safe food habits and the harmful effects of food adulteration. The programme was organized under the themes “Safe Food, Healthy You, Brighter Future”, “Real food nourishes, adulteration harms”, “Choose safe food, choose a better tomorrow” and “Eat Safe, Live Safe, Stay Healthy”. Dr. H. Kohila Subathra Christy, Head and Associate Professor of Chemistry and Convenor of the workshop, delivered the welcome address. She welcomed the gathering and briefed about the importance of the workshop and the need for awareness on food adulteration in day-to-day life. Industrial Visit at Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant

 An industrial visit to the **Koodankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP), Tirunelveli District**, was organized for the students of A.P.C. Mahalaxmi College for Women to provide them with practical exposure to nuclear power generation and its applications. The students visited the **Nuclear Information Centre**, where they gained valuable insights into the principles of nuclear energy, nuclear power generation, radiation safety, and the functioning of a nuclear power plant. The visit helped the students connect their theoretical knowledge of Chemistry and related sciences with real-world industrial applications. The programme was highly informative and educational, enhancing the students’ scientific awareness and understanding of nuclear technology. The visit concluded with a group photograph at the Nuclear Information Centre, marking a memorable and enriching academic experience for the students and faculty.
